Whether it is by car or by plane people are getting out and about this Memorial Day weekend.
AAA is predicting a record number of road trips, with nearly 40 million traveling by car.
To save money, AAA says use their Gas Cost Calculator this lets you price out how much the trip you want to take will cost in gas.
AAA recommends that when you do need to fill up, pick a gas station a little off the road. That's because they find right off the interstate gas stations tend to charge more.
Dropping your speed by 5 to 10 miles per hour can increase fuel economy, according to AAA. Meaning less gas and less money.
If you are flying, you probably already booked that ticket. But AAA says there are other areas to save, like booking airport parking beforehand. Also, bring your own food, it is allowed through TSA, just no drinks. It saves a lot of money instead of dining at the airport.
