A local nonprofit is empowering women going through cancer treatment by giving them makeovers.
The Basic 6 gave a complete makeover Tuesday to two Long Island women battling cancer at Morel Salon in Locust Valley.
“It makes me feel great, just wanting to feel good and wanting to go out and be positive,” says Tracy Winters, of Port Washington.
The nonprofit helps women look good and feel good by using six products in six minutes.
The founders of The Basic 6 also have a therapy dog available during the makeover sessions.
Those who are part of the nonprofit say they all have had loved ones battle cancer so they understand how important it is to offer the services for free.
