Tension is high at the Bronx High School of Science over what some teachers and students are calling over-testing.Critics of Principal Valerie Reidy claim she is burning out students with "diagnostic pretests." They complain Reidy is taking away valuable hands-on classroom time with tests that do not count. Students must still take standardized state and city exams.
Reidy defends her methods, saying more tests will better prepare students. Some students say it's just more pressure.
