A deep freeze settled over Long Island in the wake of Thursday night's blizzard-like storm, but the frigid temperatures won't be around for long.

The low temperature at MacArthur Airport Saturday morning was 0 degrees, breaking a record low of 10 degrees set in 2008.

The coldest recorded low temperature on Long Island Saturday was minus 11 degrees in Westhampton.

News 12 meteorologists say it's some of the coldest weather Long Island has seen since 1988.

Temperatures overnight Saturday will continue to be icy, averaging around 0 degrees. However, Sunday and Monday are expected to be warmer, with highs in the mid-40s.
