A 15-year-old boy was stabbed in the neck outside Hempstead Town Hall Thursday.
Police say the suspect, who is in custody, was a classmate of the boy at Alberta B. Gray Schulz Middle School. Authorities say the victim was stabbed with a sharp cutting instrument and had to undergo emergency surgery at Winthrop University Hospital.
Police say they are not ruling out that more people may have been involved in the attack and are not commenting if the incident could be gang related. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
