Police say 18-year-old Robert Ramirez, of Bay Shore, was killed after his mini-bike crashed into an SUV Saturday night.
Angie Ramirez, Ramirez?s older sister, remembers his passion for bikes and motorcycles.
?He was very loving in his own way and he was very adventurous,? Angie Ramirez says.
Police say Ramirez was not wearing his helmet when he ran a stop sign at Garden City Street and Howells Road. Moments later, he crashed into a Honda SUV. No charges were filed against the driver of the Honda.
Ramirez?s family says he was looking forward to graduating from Brentwood High School and wanted to become a motorcycle mechanic. They hope a lesson can be learned from his death.
?Don?t do anything that you?re not supposed to be doing,? Jerry Morales, Ramirez?s father, says. ?Just a tragic loss.?
