Friends and relatives gathered at the site of a makeshift memorial in Bellmore where a teenager lost his life in a motorcycle crash Sunday.
Friends say 19-year-old John Hall hit a curb and slammed into a wall on Broad Street around 2:40 a.m. People who knew Hall said the motorcycle wasn't his and he was leaving a party.
Tearful mourners remembered the former Mepham High School football player as a great person. "He was a kid that always just did what he had to do. Never got in trouble. Always had everybody's back," friend Anthony Platt said. "God don't take people for no reason."
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
