A Port Jefferson Station teenager, who survived a brain tumor as a child, is using comedy as a way to help those suffering from the same ailment.
High school student Kyle Kratzy, 18, suffered from debilitating headaches for years until doctors diagnosed him with a brain tumor at age 6.
"After celebrating 10 years of being a survivor, I decided I wanted to do something to give back," Kratzy tells News 12 Long Island.
Kratzy, an aspiring stand-up comedian, says he started BrainTumorsAreFunny.com, with the mission to bring laughter and a positive attitude to support children facing brain tumors and other medical issues.
The organization raises money and provides comedy shows to people in need of a laugh.
"Just being up there and being able to entertain people is a great feeling for me," says Kratzy.
A fundraising event with Kratzy as a headliner is being held at the Emporium in Patchogue on June 30. He will also be graduating from high school this week.
