Police say a 15-year-old is responsible for a terrifying and violent attack on a 37-year-old Uniondale woman in broad daylight.
According to police, the victim was entering her home on Front Street after grocery shopping when Richard Topper approached her. Topper grabbed her by the neck, held a knife to her throat and demanded money. Police say the victim fought Topper off and in doing so she partially severed her left index finger.
The attack continued inside the victim?s home. Police say after the victim acquiesced and gave Topper some money, he threw her on the ground, dragged her by the hair and cut off some of her clothing with a knife and began to sexually assault her.
Police say the victim was not raped. When Topper left, she called police and the suspect was found nearby. Topper is charged with robbery, assault and burglary.
