A teacher's aide was arraigned today following accusations by a Rockville Centre mother that the woman abused her disabled daughter.
Alexandra Chmil was charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person.
Joselyn Beltre's daughter, Krystal, attends Hagedorn Little Village School in Seaford. She suffers from a rare chromosome syndrome and doesn't speak. Beltre says her daughter came home from school last May with bruising on her cheeks. Beltre filed a police report after viewing footage of what she describes as "aggressive face wiping" by Chmil, who was supposed to be helping her daughter.
Chmil's bail was set at $25,000.
