It's Tax Day! That means you have until midnight tonight to get your taxes done or file for an extension.

If you haven't filed yet, there is help. For example, at the United Way, just dial 211 and that will bring you to their help line to find out if you qualify for the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), and free tax preparation services.

The service is open to taxpayers with household incomes below $49,000.

New York state also has online help with New York's direct file option. It's free and available on your phone in both English and Spanish.

And the IRS free file lets qualified taxpayers prepare and file federal income tax returns online using guided tax preparation software. Those who don't qualify can still use free file fillable forms and you can use this to request an automatic tax-filing extension.
