Tanker
trucks lined the streets of the Old Bethpage Village Restoration today for a
Fourth of July parade, just one way families are honoring the country
today.
The
American Armor Museum celebrated America's 245th birthday with a July Fourth
parade featuring vintage military vehicles. Some of them lined up at Old
Bethpage Restoration, where the parade took place.
“It brings a reflection onto our past and it helps
people realize what everybody did in unity to get to where we are today,” says
Mike Zagari, of East Northport.
Organizers
say it's a great way to celebrate July Fourth and this year, pandemic
restrictions will be lifted from the parade.
“As a veteran, I love this,” says Rocco Russo, of
Levittown. “I think this is fantastic and it helps going and it reminds us of
where we came from and what we had to do to be here.”
Living
historians will be riding in the more than 30 vehicles featured in the parade.
Some of the vehicles include the legendary Sherman tank and the mighty Hellcat.
