A young man who grew up in Nassau has been found dead in Pennsylvania, and it comes just seven years after the man's parents were found murdered in their Syosset home.
Pulkit Singh, also known as Josh, was found dead last week in his off-campus apartment near the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a student.
There is no word yet on the cause of the 20-year-old's death, but police say they do not suspect foul play. They are awaiting the results of a toxicology report.
Singh and his brother, Ankur, were just 12 and 13 years old when they came home one day in 2007 to find their parents had been shot to death inside their home. That case remains unsolved.
Singh and his brother were interviewed by News 12 in 2011. At the time, they were determined to make their deceased parents proud. "If I lose myself in the tragedy, I'm not going to fulfill my mom and dad's dreams of what they wanted for us," Singh had told News 12.
After their parents' deaths, the boys moved in with relatives in Bethpage and attended Bethpage High School. Pulkit Singh went on to attend both the prestigious Wharton School of Business and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania.
