A bald eagle was found injured Thursday on Route 112 in Medford.

Frankie Floridia, of Strong Island Animal Rescue, was called in to help and then brought the bird to Sweetbriar Nature Center.

Experts say the eagle has an eye infection and is temporary blind in its right eye.

Veterinarians at Sweetbriar Nature Center say it's not easy for a bald eagle to survive in the wild with only one eye so they will treat the eagle with antibiotics and release it back to a safe area in Medford where it was found.
