Police have charged five suspected MS-13 gang members in the death of a Glen Cove teen whose body was found in Maryland earlier this year.
Baltimore County police say 16-year-old Gabriela Alejandra Gonzalez Ardon's body was found near a reservoir.
Police say five suspects, believed to be MS-13 gang members, lured the 16-year-old to a park, where her body was found May 29.
Investigators believe she was targeted by the suspects in a conflict between two gangs.
Back in May, police in Baltimore County found the remains but couldn't identify her right away, so they released picture of her tattoos. A few days later, she was identified as Gonzalez Ardon.
The Glen Cove resident had been reported missing to police five times over the past year. The first four times she was located safely and returned home. The fifth report remained an open missing person investigation - until her body was positively identified.
The suspects, ranging in ages 16 to 21, were charged with first-degree murder and numerous other related charges.
The suspects are being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bail status.
