Police say they arrested two men have and are searching for a third after a stop during a narcotics investigation in Islandia.
Police say they tried to stop three people at a USA Petroleum gas station near Jake's 58 off the Long Island Expressway in Islandia Wednesday around 5 p.m., but the suspects fled.
Police say they arrested 27-year-old Quendell Wiggins, of Middle Island, immediately.
But Hagi Davis, 32, of Middle Island, allegedly stole a parked, running car and drove east, where police say he struck another vehicle at the LIE Service Road near Lake Promenade in Ronkonkoma.
Davis and the female driver he crashed into suffered injuries that did not appear life-threatening, police say. Two officers also suffered minor injuries.
A third suspect who escaped on foot remains at large.
Wiggins and Davis were arraigned on multiple drug and other criminal charges late Thursday afternoon. Prosecutors say they had cocaine, oxycodone and heroin when they fled Jake's 58.
Davis and Wiggins are being held on bonds of $1.5 million and $1.6 million, respectively.
Police are still searching for that third suspect, and anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
