There is still no one in custody one week after a Levittown teenager was killed by a hit-and-run driver.
As News 12 has reported, the incident began as a fender bender on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown. The fender bender was caught on surveillance video. That video shows Taranjit Parmer pulling into a parking lot after the accident. Police say off-camera, Parmer got out of her car before the driver of a red pickup truck hit her and fled the scene.
Family members say Parmer was an aspiring dentist. She was on her way home from class at Adelphi University the night she was killed. She would have turned 19 this past Tuesday.
At the site of the hit-and-run, a mobile billboard now reads: Fatal leaving scene, November 9th, Red Pickup truck.
Police say they are pursuing a number of leads and are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
