Surveillance video was played today at the trial of a man accused of trying to kill a police officer.
Authorities say NYPD Officer Kevin Brennan, of Garden City Park, was shot during a late night struggle with Luis Ortiz.
Prosecutors say the footage, shown in court today, shows Ortiz shooting Brennan at point-blank range.
Brennan was back on the stand today for cross-examination after testifying for more than two hours yesterday.
Ortiz is charged with attempted murder of a police officer and first-degree murder for allegedly shooting another person a month earlier. He faces life in prison without parole if convicted.
