An act of antisemitism was discovered in Hempstead.
Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin and the Town Board expressed their outrage Tuesday after a hateful message was found written on a sign that welcomes residents to Hempstead Town Hall.
The incident comes days after officials spoke out against other antisemitic incidents committed across the town in the past month.
"These cowards come here and write that message on the Town of Hempstead sign welcoming residents," Clavin says. "Well, I speak for everyone when I say, 'No way we're not gonna allow it, we're gonna hold you accountable and you're a disgrace."
Supervisor Clavin says they are currently going through surveillance video of the town facilities, as well as talking to their neighbors in the area.
