Dr. Gerold's statement went on to say, "We are heartbroken for Robert's family and friends, and all who were fortunate to have been touched by his boundless enthusiasm and love of life."

Bush collapsed during intramural football practice. His family says he suffered sudden cardiac arrest.

Counselors will be available Monday at Newfield High School for any student, district staff member or member of the school district community.
