WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

-Coastal Flood Advisory: Sunday from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. Minor flooding along the South Shore and east End could occur at high tide.

-Rain and a wintry mix move in late Saturday afternoon, picking up in the evening and overnight. Mostly heavy rain with gusty winds at night. Rainfall totals 1 to 2 inches with easterly winds 20 to 40 mph. The heaviest precipitation should end pretty early Sunday morning with some rain to snow showers lingering into Sunday afternoon. This is mainly a rain event for Long Island with only a coating of snow here and there expected Sunday
afternoon.

-The next storm brings rain Tuesday afternoon with heavy rainfall and potentially damaging winds overnight into Wednesday morning. Beach erosion and coastal flooding will be a big concern with very strong south winds and large waves. Another storm could follow next weekend.
