WHAT'S NEW: Changes are on the way! The last full day of summer was a nice one across Long Island, but we have a cold front in sight, helping to give rain for Thursday then a drop in temps.
WHAT'S NEXT: Autumn starts Thursday night, at 9:04, and the new season will come rushing in! As the cold front moves through, we’ll first have the rain, then breezy to windy conditions as temps drop Thursday late afternoon/evening. A cold start to Friday comes our way but then our temps rebound heading into the weekend.
TROPICS: FIONA is a Category 4 hurricane with 130 mph winds. It’s path takes it just to the west of Bermuda. It’ll move towards southeast Canada over the next several days but kick up rough waves for LI.
Gaston is a tropical storm that poses no threat to land as it churns in the north Atlantic Ocean.
There are three other disturbances we are watching in the ocean, with one likely to become Hermine in a day or two, near the Leeward Islands.
Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Addison Green says a cold front will bring rain for Thursday before a cooldown.

OVERNIGHT: Increasing clouds with at a breeze at times, with showers by daybreak. Lows: low to mid 60s.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy skies, scattered showers with isolated t-storms, breezy winds and then to follow, cooler temps then move in as a cold front passes. Highs: mid 70s. Lows: low 50s.

FRIDAY: Rather breezy to windy northwest winds, will make the air feel a little colder, especially for the morning hours. Mostly sunny skies and very dry air will be in place for the afternoon with the winds lingering. Highs: mid 60s. Lows: upper 40s to low 50s.
SATURDAY: *PICK OF THE WEEK* - Dry, mild and sunny with a light breeze. Great Fall Weather! Highs: low to mid 70s. Lows: mid 50s.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy, mild temps and breezy winds for the afternoon. Showers will arrive overnight into Monday. Highs: mid 70s. Lows: upper 50s to low 60s.
NEXT WEEK: Shower activity is around early on in the week with drier and clearer skies to follow, as temps cool down from the mid 70s to upper 60s.
