WHAT’S NEW: High pressure provides cooler but pleasant conditions through Friday, with cloudy skies.
WHAT’S NEXT: Remnants of Ian will bring much-needed rain to the Hudson Valley this weekend, as well as gusty winds.
TROPICS: Ian is expected to make its third landfall on Friday along the South Carolina coast as a hurricane.

OVERNIGHT: Lows down to 46. Frost advisory overnight into Friday morning for Ulster County.
FRIDAY: Partly to mostly cloudy. Highs in the upper-60s. Lows in the low-50s.
WEEKEND - WEATHER TO WATCH: Ian's remnants are expected to expand much farther north from its center starting early Saturday. The Hudson Valley looks to be on the edge of steady/heavy rain. Rain in the forecast as of now for much of Saturday with a break and then some more on Sunday. 
MONDAY - TUESDAY: Mainly dry for Monday but still watching for additional rain chances.
