News 12 Storm Watch Meteorologist Sam Augeri says it will be warm for most of the weekend with a few isolated storms.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Warm for the weekend with highs in the mid-80s. Chance for a few storms Saturday afternoon into the evening with a slight risk for strong to severe storms. Biggest threat will be gusty winds and heavy rainfall in Nassau County. Sunday looks nice and warm with the threat for showers ending.
Moderate risk of rip currents along the South Shore.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly clear and nice with lows near 66. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Sunrise: 5:59   
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny and warm with the chance of scattered showers and storms during the late afternoon into the evening. Some storms could become strong to severe. Highs near 83. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Sunset: 7:55
SATURDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy with scattered showers and storms. Rain ends by morning. Lows near 70. South wind 5 to 15 mph.
SUNDAY: Morning clouds give way to afternoon sun. Warmer with highs near 87. Lows near 70.
MONDAY: Sun and clouds. Good chance for showers and storms Monday evening into Monday night. Highs near 82. Lows near 70.
