ALERTS: Coastal flood advisory, high surf advisory, high risk of rip currents all continue for the south shore and east end of Long Island
Other than high surf and some minor coastal flooding during high tides today, this is a top 10 weather day for Long Island! If you are heading to an open beach today, keep in mind that swimming is most likely still banned and for good reason! Dangerous rip currents continue. The surf continues to improve, but it is still dangerous — around four-to-nine-foot waves will still be around this afternoon.
Other than a rough but improving Atlantic Ocean - expect a sunny day with low humidity and highs around 82 degrees. The weekend looks good, too!
