News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Sam Augeri says scattered showers are likely for the end of the workweek and the start of the weekend. Sunday is looking dry, but breezy.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
-Friday and Saturday highlighted for weather to watch on the 10-day.
-Rainfall amounts are trending lower, especially for Saturday and most of the rain may now come through Friday. Even so, it won't be steady and non-stop. Scattered showers, with some quick heavy rain in a few spots. We might even see some sun Saturday between the showers. The weather won't be terrible but certainly a nuisance. The storm pulls away Saturday night with gusty westerly winds and drier weather for Sunday.
-Suffolk County Marathon weekend. Scattered showers for Saturday morning with dry and breezy conditions for Sunday morning.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly clear and chilly with lows near 48. South southwest wind 5 mph. Sunrise: 7:08
THURSDAY: Sam's pick of the week! Mostly sunny and mild. Highs near 67 with south winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunset: 6:06.
