Suffolk SPCA: Islip man trapped and then abandoned cat at Bay Shore ShopRite

The Suffolk SPCA says 67-year-old Michael Vitucci trapped the cat near his trailer park home on Main Street.

A Islip man is facing charges after officials say he trapped and abandoned a cat.

The Suffolk SPCA says 67-year-old Michael Vitucci trapped the cat near his trailer park home on Main Street and then left it at the ShopRite in Bay Shore.

Investigators say it happened early in February.

Vitucci was arrested last week.

SPCA detectives were searching for the cat in connection to the incident as of Saturday night. They said the cat named Clyde is also missing from a home on Main Street.
