Suffolk sheriffs helped rescue a baby they say was in imminent danger.

They say 1-year-old Kaecyn Smith was found in North Carolina Friday with his mother.

News 12 is told a warrant was issued for her and her former boyfriend in Suffolk Family Court Monday.

Officials say the former boyfriend, 25, was located in Mastic Beach Wednesday.

They say the baby was turned over to Social Services and will be heading back to New York.
