Residents in Suffolk County are digging out from the snowstorm that walloped the Island and caused traffic delays Tuesday afternoon.

Many places in Suffolk County saw higher snow totals with this storm, according to News 12 meteorologists. News 12 Long Island's Erin Colton was in East Islip where the roads have been cleared and blacktop can be seen.

About a foot of snow was dumped in Suffolk County, but the side roads were the main concern for drivers.

Many residents tell News 12 the roads seemed to be cleared pretty quickly with this storm.

Drivers are urged to use caution today due to the icy conditions and freezing temperatures.
