Suffolk County is reporting the first human case of West Nile virus of the season.
Health officials say the patient is a Town of Babylon resident.
The person is over 55 years-old and has been hospitalized since August 19 with symptoms consistent with West Nile virus.
Health officials say it's important to eliminate any standing water on your property.
