Suffolk County police say a woman was found dead inside a car in the water in Stony Brook.

Officers responded to a call about a vehicle found in the water off Shore Road around 6:45 a.m., according to authorities. Police say the driver, 76-year-old Harriet Farish, was discovered deceased inside the 2020 Kia Telluride.

Authorities say homicide squad detectives are investigating the incident.
