A man is accused of stealing one sneaker from a Dick’s Sporting Goods located at the Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove.

Suffolk County police say the man attempted to leave the store with a pair of Air Jordan sneakers. A loss prevention employee attempted to stop him and swatted the box of shoes out of the man’s hands.

The suspect picked up one of the sneakers and fled the store.

The incident happened on Dec. 6, 2023, at around 9 p.m.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are offering a cash reward for any information that leads to an arrest. They can do so by submitting an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-200-TIPS.
