A plane landed safely Wednesday on a beach in Mount Sinai, Suffolk County police say.

Officials say the single-engine Cessna lost power during the flight when the 60-year-old male pilot landed the aircraft on Cedar Beach at around 7:30 p.m.

A 59-year-old female passenger was not injured and no one on the beach was injured.
