They’re used to running schools, but now Hampton Bays school administrators are trading their offices for aprons and stepping into the kitchen for a little friendly competition. The first annual Hampton Bays Purple & White Pizza Wars is bringing administrators together at Uncle Joe’s Pizza & Parlour to see which team can raise the most money for a good cause.
The Purple Team will compete Wednesday, October 14, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., supporting the Hampton Bays Community Food Pantry at St. Rosalie’s Church. The White Team will take its turn Wednesday, October 21, during the same hours, raising money for the Kanas Center at East End Hospice. Both organizations serve people in the local community, from neighbors facing food insecurity to terminally ill patients in need of compassionate care.
The competition takes its colors from Hampton Bays Public Schools’ purple and white, turning school spirit into an opportunity to give back. Twenty percent of the proceeds from each event will go to that team’s designated charity. The winning team will also receive an additional $1,000 donation for its cause.
Community members are encouraged to stop by, grab a pizza, and cheer on their favorite team. The competition takes place at Uncle Joe’s Pizza & Parlour, located at 42 East Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.
