A 33-year-old woman from Centereach was fatally struck early Monday morning by a vehicle on Route 347 in Stony Brook.

Suffolk police confirmed that it was a hit-and-run incident. Gina Paduano was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office.  

The incident occurred in the westbound lanes on Route 347 near Daffodil Lane at 5:16 a.m. The driver continued westbound, Suffolk police say.
