Police say Officer Jessica Proios responded to a 911 call of a woman in labor on Hammond Road around 9:15 p.m.

A Suffolk County police officer helped to deliver a baby in Centereach Wednesday night.
Police say Officer Jessica Proios responded to a 911 call of a woman in labor on Hammond Road around 9:15 p.m.
That is where she found Ashley Silvering in the back seat and helped her deliver a baby girl.
The Centereach Fire Department Ambulance then transported the 37-year-old and her newborn to the hospital where they are said to be doing just fine.
