Suffolk police: Man fatally stabbed during Huntington Station party

Detectives say a 911 caller reported the stabbing on Lowndes Avenue around 2 a.m.

Suffolk police say a man was stabbed to death overnight during a party in Huntington Station.

Detectives say a 911 caller reported the stabbing on Lowndes Avenue around 2 a.m.

They say 29-year-old Justino Alfaro-Avila, of Huntington Station, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to police, a 39-year-old man was also stabbed and released from the hospital.

What led up to the stabbing was not immediately clear. No arrests had been made as of Sunday evening.

Police are asking anyone with information about the stabbings to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
