Suffolk police say a Coram man was rescued from a raft in the Narrow Bay marsh early Sunday morning.
They say officers from the Marine Bureau were called just after 3 a.m. for a report of a man yelling for help. A police helicopter was able to spot a 10-foot inflatable with Brian Bishop on board, who was struggling to reach the shore.
Police believe Bishop had been stuck for eight hours, and when they rescued him, they began to search for a second man.
The other man had been able to swim to shore and was found unharmed.
