Suffolk police arrested three men Monday that they say are responsible for a cold case murder in Coram.
Police say Richard Simon, of Coram, and Bellport resident Tracy Crews beat, robbed and fatally shot 42-year-old Ahmet Barin in the chest in January 2001. Crews? cousin, William Crews, of Riverhead, was the alleged getaway driver. Barin was working the overnight shift at a Coastal Gas Station, which has since become a Millennium Supermart.
Authorities say they didn?t receive a hot tip that led to the arrest, but credit steady police work over the past five years. Simon and Tracy Crews are charged with second-degree murder. William Crews faces robbery charges.
