A Suffolk pet hotel is helping to protect local K-9 units.
The move is meant to honor the memory of a 9/11 hero and a member of the News 12 family.
News 12 was there last month when the Willow Pet Hotel launched a donation campaign to buy bullet-proof vests for police canines.
The hotel will give police a check today for canine body armor.
The money was raised in memory of New York City police officer and News 12 photographer Glen Pettit. Glen died on Sept. 11th.
Pettit was last seen following firefighters into the World Trade Center with his camera on his shoulder.
