A William Floyd High School distance runner will be allowed to race in the state championships this weekend.
Suffolk County officials tell News 12 that a judge in the state Supreme Court decided that Zariel Macchia will be eligible to compete.
Macchia was declared ineligible by the New York High School Athletic Association after competing against college athletes at a meet in Boston.
Macchia filed a lawsuit to have that decision reversed, saying she has been competing against college athletes for years.
