For the rest of the week, a supply drive is being held in Suffolk County to collect equipment needed to help people on the front lines battling coronavirus.
People are being asked to donate any unused personal protective equipment, including N95 masks, ear-loop face masks, gowns and gloves that the healthcare professionals can use.
"This is an opportunity for all of us to come together, to work together and to support the men and women who, right now, are working on the front lines to keep us all safe to contain the spread of the virus," said Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone.
The drive is taking place at the Suffolk County Fire Academy in Yaphank, where a drop-off station has been set up.
On Monday, large institutions like Eastern Suffolk BOCES Nursing School dropped off truckloads of supplies.
All of the supplies will be sorted and immediately turned around for distribution at medical facilities in the area.
The drive takes place all week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
