Woman staying at Jericho motel accused of setting fire to pillowcase

A Jericho woman is facing an arson charge after allegedly setting a motel pillowcase on fire.
Nassau County police say the incident occurred shortly after 2:30 a.m. Monday at the Inn at Jericho.
Police say 54-year-old Crystal Alston was seen on live security cameras leaving her room carrying a pillowcase that was on fire, which she threw onto the floor before returning to her room.
An employee, who witnessed the incident on the security cameras, extinguished the fire and contacted police.
Alston was later taken to a hospital for evaluation, police said.
