The Lindenhurst Board of Education has voted to sell the shuttered Edward W. Bower Elementary School to a developer for $5.5 million.
Engel Burman Group, of Garden City, plans to build senior housing at the site.
The developer has made similar offers for former school sites in Deer Park and Seaford.
