A Shirley man pleaded guilty to sex trafficking and promoting prostitution, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors say Javesh Persaud lured an 18-year-old homeless woman to Long Island by promising her a house and food.
They say he forced her to have sex with men for money. Persaud is accused of hurting her if she refused.
Persaud faces up to 12 years in prison when sentenced.
