Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone is giving a COVID-19 update.
UPDATES:
- 40 new Suffolk COVID-19 deaths, death toll up to 608.
- 22,691 positive tests countywide. 744 new cases over the past day.
- Numbers back up for hospitalizations by 13. Comes after two days where hospitalizations dipped.
- Decrease of ICU bed patients by 8, down to 531.
- 3,379 total hospital beds countywide. 607 beds available, 98 ICU beds available.
- 108 COVID-19 patients discharged, slightly less than in previous days.
- Hotspot testing sites in Huntington Station, Brentwood, Riverhead reopened Tuesday.
- Wyandanch, Amityville HRHCare testing sites set to open by Thursday.
- Suffolk began delivery Tuesday of masks to grocery store workers.
- Honk for Our Transit Workers campaign to show appreciation Thursday at 3 p.m., #HeroesMovingHeroes to show support.
