Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone provided his Thursday COVID-19 update, where he touted the state's testing program and discussed the most recent numbers.

- County crosses 30,000 positive coronavirus tests, over 700 in past day.
- Bellone echoes the 'good news' about contact tracing testing put in place by Gov. Cuomo.
- 1,477 tests administered at hot spot testing sites so far, 53% infection rate in those tests - a 'higher' rate in initial results than typical.
- Death toll hits 959 with over 30 Suffolk deaths in past day.
- Hospitalizations drop by 37, total of 1,340 patients. Second straight day seeing a drop in hospitalizations.
- 131 COVID-19 hospital discharges.
- 24,000 PPEs distributed yesterday, 80,000 ear-loop masks, 27,000 gowns acquired by county.
- Bellone says county has received $200M+ from CARES Act.
