The term "Thanksgiving" took on a deeper meaning for a family in Suffolk this year.
Jamie Sledge, of Greenport, held her two twin boys for the first time Thursday. They were born prematurely during an emergency C-section after 28 weeks of pregnancy on Sept. 23.
She says she is thankful to the doctors and nurses at Stony Brook University Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
The family hopes that the twins, Lucas and Levi, will be home in time for Christmas.
Sledge and her husband, Walter Sledge, say they are also thankful to the March of Dimes and the Little Angel Fund for supporting their family through a trying time.
