Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone is asking the state for permission to put speed cameras in 20 school zones, according to Newsday.
The drivers could be slapped with $50 fines if they are caught speeding.
The county executive estimates that the speed cameras could bring Suffolk another $2 million a year.
