Suffolk police arrested 78 people on drug charges in their latest crackdown on gang-related crime.
Altogether, Suffolk District Attorney Thomas Spota issued 120 charges for possessing or dealing cocaine, marijuana and PCP. Twelve more individuals were charged with prostitution. Spota said some of the suspects are members of the Bloods gang.
The operation focused on street-level drug dealing at a Second Street home in Riverhead, another house in Calverton and a business called the Crystal Bar. Neighbors in Riverhead claimed people were in and out of the Second Street home at all hours of the night.
Spota said the county would continue its efforts to stop the growth and influence of gangs.
